According to the Israeli Kan TV channel, American officers are present at the Northern Command headquarters in Safed and are following the operation moment by moment. This means that any attack in Lebanon is carried out with the American “green light”.
Al-Akhbar adds, noting that Washington has changed its role from a “mediator” to a “partner in managing the balance”: The messages of this partnership are not just targeting Hezbollah, but that Washington does not agree with a ceasefire in Lebanon, but only with “control of the situation.”
