Director of Sana’a Airport: Saudi Arabia’s obstruction of the passage of the Yemeni plane is unjustified

PNN – The director general of Sana’a International Airport, in response to Saudi Arabia’s obstruction of the passage of a Yemeni plane to Jordan, considered this action unjustified.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, quoted by Al-Masirah, “Khaled Al-Shaif” announced: The Saudi authorities prevented the Yemeni plane from crossing its airspace towards Amman and forced the plane to return, despite taking all necessary measures in this regard.

The Director General of Sana’a International Airport stated: In the shadow of the continuation of the air blockade imposed on Yemen, the Saudi authorities prevented the passage of Yemeni airlines from Sana’a Airport to Queen Alia International Airport through their airspace.

Al-Shayif added that the Yemeni flight was supposed to leave for safety in coordination with the Jeddah center, but Saudi authorities prevented it.

He continued: Most of the passengers of this plane were emergency patients and Saudi Arabia’s action has no justification.

The Director General of Sana’a International Airport emphasized that the Yemeni plane’s passage through Saudi airspace is proof that the Saudi regime continues to impose a blockade against air flights.

Al-Shaif said: Saudi Arabia’s actions are contrary to the recent agreement announced by the United Nations, which allows flights to Jordan and other countries.

He added: This flight will take off again from Sana’a airport, because there is no legal justification for preventing its flight.

Based on the agreement between Yemen and the Saudi coalition two years ago, Riyadh pledged to fulfill its commitments, including stopping airstrikes and reopening Yemeni airports, including Sana’a airport, in exchange for a ceasefire and stopping retaliatory operations by the Yemeni army.
