Disappointment of Arab supporters from Trump’s election promises about Gaza/”He is a liar”

PNN – While not much time has passed since Donald Trump took office, his promises to restore peace and tranquility in Gaza have disappointed many of those who voted for him for the first time in the November elections, and now some Arab-Americans consider him simply a “liar”.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the Washington Post newspaper wrote: Donald Trump’s proposal to evacuate Gaza and annex it has frustrated many Arab-Americans, and Trump’s ability to retain his new supporters will have important implications for future Republican state races and the party’s fragile coalition.

“Ali Hammoud”, a 77-year-old retired man of Lebanese origin, is still angry about what Trump said about the occupation of Gaza and its development.

Hammoud was among the Democrats who helped Trump to gain support from Arabs outside of Detroit. They voted for Trump for the first time due to their dissatisfaction with the performance of the previous US President Joe Biden and his Vice President Kamala Harris, due to the continued support of Israel.

The Washington Post wrote: Now, some Arab American voters who helped Trump win in Michigan are wondering if they were fooled by his promises to quickly end the war that has devastated Gaza.

Hammoud, who is one of dozens of Arab-Americans interviewed by The Washington Post, said: Instead of helping the people of Gaza in their land, Trump wants to turn it into a coastal city (rivera) and expel the Palestinians from there. “His promise will not be fulfilled.”

Others interviewed by The Washington Post said Trump was just using a negotiating ploy and would back off.

A Zionist website: Trump’s promises are unattainable.

However, others believe that Trump deceived his Arab American supporters and followed Israel’s order by guaranteeing peace and respect for the Palestinians.

The Washington Post wrote: 85-year-old Sam Hashem is another Arab of descent who voted for Trump for the first time in the November elections. But now he says he doesn’t feel well.

Hashem said: Trump spoke well before the election. Everyone said he would bring peace. He is no longer looking to start a war and cause more problems. But he is a liar.

39-year-old Faye Nemer told the Washington Post in a conference room on the fourth floor of an office building in Dearborn: Trump’s stance on Gaza does not align with his promises of “peace and dignity” for the Palestinians.

The Washington Post wrote: Nimr immigrated to America 10 years ago, but his family still lives in Lebanon and suffered losses in the war. His cousin, who was a 6-year-old child, was also martyred in the attacks of the Israeli regime on South Lebanon. Nimr said “Palestinians and Lebanon’s territorial integrity” was a “red line” in the elections.

“Albert Abbas”, an American of Lebanese descent, who hosted Trump in his family restaurant last November, said: the recent statements of the American president are “worrying”.

Abbas believes that Trump still has a chance to change his course and support Arab-Americans in Mishgyan.

This American citizen of Arab descent added: The result of the mid-term or future presidential elections depends heavily on Trump’s foreign policy in Gaza and Lebanon.

“Khalid Torani”, an American of Palestinian descent and the founder of the “Leave Biden (and later Harris)” movement, also said that he believes that Trump’s statements about Gaza are a tactic to hide the truth and distract from his controversial actions in the country.

Critics argue that by presenting his plan, Trump not only supports ethnic cleansing in Gaza, but also violates the UN Charter of Human Rights by proposing to take it over by force.
