Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Waldkamp resigned on Friday night after a row erupted at a government meeting over possible sanctions against Tel Aviv.

Waldkamp said in a statement: I have come to the conclusion that I am not in a position to take any more significant steps to pressure Israel.

The Dutch Foreign Minister spoke on Thursday of his willingness to impose new measures against Tel Aviv.

Previously, last July, the Dutch government had declared Itamar Ben-Guyer and Smotrich, two Zionist ministers, as “persona non grata.”

The Netherlands was also among 21 countries that, in a joint statement on Thursday, called the approval of a major plan to expand settlements in the occupied West Bank “unacceptable and contrary to international law.”
