Egypt: Gaza management will be in Palestinian hands.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Ati, in an interview with Al Arabiya and Al Hadath, stressed that Egypt’s position is based on an immediate cessation of hostilities and the prevention of genocide in Gaza, while ensuring the protection and security of civilians.

He added that the mediators are considering measures for transitional arrangements after a ceasefire is reached; the administration of Gaza will be the responsibility of the Palestinians themselves, and there should be no direct foreign interference in their internal affairs.

Regarding the fate of the Hamas movement, the Egyptian Foreign Minister also said that this issue will be determined only by the Palestinians, and that currently the talks are focused on forming a transitional committee to govern Gaza that will not include Hamas’ participation, in a way that will continue basic services and ensure stability in the region.

Abdel Ati also stressed that Cairo’s role will be supportive and stressed the importance of taking advantage of the positive elements in US President Donald Trump’s plan to unite the West Bank and Gaza to ensure regional stability and enhance opportunities for peace.

He clarified that there will be no forced displacement of Palestinians and that the Rafah crossing from Egypt will be open for humanitarian aid, but not for forced population transfers.

It is worth noting that the US President presented a 20-point plan on Monday night to end the almost two-year war in Gaza, which includes mechanisms for reconstruction, finalization of the process, and the creation of a future Palestinian state.

The White House published the text of the plan, which designates Gaza as a demilitarized zone and foresees the withdrawal of Israeli forces to the agreed line to facilitate the release of Israeli prisoners; At the same time, the regime’s military operations will remain suspended and the conflict lines will remain fixed until the conditions are met and the withdrawal is complete, according to a phased plan.
