Egypt issues stern warning to Ethiopia over new dams

Ethiopia

PNN – Egypt’s Foreign Minister, Badr Abdel Aty, in sharp and unprecedented remarks, described the Nile River crisis with Ethiopia as an existential and substantive threat to his country, which goes beyond conventional national security or border issues.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Abdel Aty, referring to the fact that Egypt’s civilization is based on the Nile River and the ingenuity of its people, added: Ethiopia, by pursuing a policy of presenting us with a fait accompli and constructing the Renaissance Dam, has led the negotiation path to a dead end.

Abdel Aty clearly declared: Cairo no longer intends to return to the fruitless negotiation process that has lasted for nearly 15 years.

Egypt’s Foreign Minister warned Addis Ababa officials: Any decision or action to construct new dams on the Nile River will be met with Egypt’s decisive and certain response based on international laws.
