Egypt warns of potential escalation in the region.
Egypt today, Thursday, warned about the “escalation scenario” in the region in the shadow of the ongoing war of the Zionist regime against Gaza.
Ahmed Abu Zeid, spokesman for the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, warned of the dangers of escalating conflict in the region following the recent developments in the war in Gaza during a meeting between Sameh Shoukry, the foreign minister of Egypt, and a US delegation.
Abu Zeid said that Shoukry hosted an eight-member delegation of US senators and representatives today, and in this meeting, he emphasized the strategic nature of the partnership between Egypt and the United States.
Shoukry stated that Egypt is willing to continue its cooperation with the United States and expand this cooperation in various fields, including political, economic, commercial, and military.
According to the newspaper “Raialyoum,” the Egyptian Foreign Minister also emphasized the necessity of sending humanitarian aid to Gaza to meet the needs of the people in the region, the need for a ceasefire in Gaza, and Egypt’s complete opposition to the forced displacement of Palestinians or the elimination of the Palestinian cause.
He also considered the effective role of international parties, including the United States, in stopping the aggressions of the Zionist regime in Gaza to be essential.
Abu Zeid also said that recent developments have revealed the dangers of the spread of conflict in the region.
He also considered maritime security in the Red Sea to be essential for global trade.
