Egyptian researcher: America’s actions reflect a “law of the jungle” approach.
Egyptian writer and researcher Zahra Abu Shaaban stated in an interview with Al-Ahed Network: What happened to the Venezuelan president was done without the authorization of the United Nations and is a clear violation of the UN Charter and international regulations.
She added: Kidnapping the president of a sovereign country is unprecedented and undermines international law.
Abu Shaaban stated: In the absence of aid and support for weak countries, the collective security system is flawed and allows powerful countries to dominate.
She added: We live by the law of the jungle due to the actions of the United States in besieging a country and kidnapping its president, and we may witness what happened to Maduro happen to the President of Colombia.
The Egyptian researcher warned: The United States wants to dominate and dominate some countries, and we expect Latin America to be targeted before the Arab region. The United States invaded Venezuela on Saturday morning in an action that has been met with a wave of international reactions, and kidnapped the country’s president.
The Venezuelan government called the action a “military invasion” and, while declaring a state of emergency, called for an urgent meeting of the United Nations Security Council.
At the same time, a number of countries, including some US allies, have cautiously stressed the need to observe the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter. Iran, Russia, and several other countries have also condemned Washington’s action and warned of its consequences for regional stability and the international system.
