PNN – Hebrew Channel 13 exposed the harsh criticism of former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, who stated that the management of the war was based on a “grand illusion” from the beginning and that “there is no possibility of eliminating Hezbollah forever.”

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Hebrew Channel 13 exposed the harsh criticism of former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, who stated that the management of the war was based on a “grand illusion” from the beginning and that “there is no possibility of eliminating Hezbollah forever.”

Barak noted that Eyal Zamir, the chief of staff of the occupying army, had presented the cabinet with specific data, including “10 red lines” that could lead to the army’s collapse from within.

He criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s silence and lack of support for these warnings.

The channel added that Barak noted during the interview that the cabinet was discussing issues unrelated to the war, and described the government’s performance as negligent, considering its disregard for the crises facing reserves, northern residents and business owners, despite allocating billions of shekels without specific goals.

Barak also stated that there is no quick fix to the shortage of soldiers, noting that the recruitment of Haredi soldiers will not be effective for at least another year and that the government has failed to adequately prepare, including by reinforcing the northern regions.

He argued that the government is creating illusions among the people about the war and is not telling the truth, both behind closed doors and to the public, leading to repeated miscalculations, especially regarding Iran, according to Al-Mayadeen.

He also stated that Hezbollah cannot be eliminated militarily and that the only solution is a political agreement. He also ruled out the possibility of overthrowing the Iranian regime or achieving a decisive victory through military escalation.

In an interview with Channel 13, Barak concluded that the government is not seeking to end the war, not only because it is unable to do so, but also because it does not want to do so in order to evade addressing the issue of responsibility for the events of October 7.

He urged people not to trust Netanyahu’s decisions without careful investigation.
