PNN – The former prime minister of the Zionist regime, Ehud Barak, who was in charge of leading the cabinet of this regime in the first years of the second Palestinian intifada, acknowledged some of the great challenges of the Zionist regime in the war with Hamas.
According to Pakistan News Network’s report on Wednesday, in an interview with Newsweek magazine, Barak describes four challenges for the Zionist regime in the war with Hamas in Gaza; Factors that, according to reports, have so far tied the hands and feet of the Zionist regime for a ground attack on Gaza.
While many expressed concern about the spread of the war to the entire Middle East region, Barak acknowledged the fear of the Zionist regime and said that one challenge is the concern that this war could spread to the northern front, where Tel Aviv faces not only Hamas in Gaza, but subsequently Hezbollah and possibly sleeper cells of Hamas, Islamic Jihad, or other groups in the West Bank.
He claimed that “Tel Aviv is even likely to face some Iranian-backed Shiite militias sent to Syria.” The former prime minister of the Zionist regime also admitted that this regime has no interest in expanding the war to the north.
Barak continues to imagine another challenge for the Zionist regime as to who can manage Gaza after Hamas. The Zionist regime has claimed that it will destroy Hamas, while according to the opinion of experts; this will not be possible due to the strength of Hamas that it showed in the Al-Aqsa storm operation.

The former prime minister of the Zionist regime explained in this regard: If the army can clear the entire Gaza Strip of any physical property of Hamas and destroy its fighting force, then it must hand over Gaza to someone. Israel does not intend to return to Gaza in the next 10, 20 years.
According to Newsweek, one of the possible candidates is the Palestinian Authority, which leads the West Bank under the presidency of Mahmoud Abbas. But as Newsweek reported in the weeks leading up to the current war, “the PA is now facing a historic crisis of legitimacy, and Hamas has increasingly eclipsed Abbas and the secular Fatah party in terms of popularity and support.”
Another challenge that Barak mentioned is adherence to international laws in war, although according to the report of international human rights organizations, so far the Zionist regime has violated many of these laws with numerous attacks on civilian centers and the use of white phosphorus in civilian areas.
Barak was once in charge of the Ministry of War of the Zionist regime, which is the agent of Tel Aviv’s crimes against the Palestinians. He approved the killing of civilians in the Gaza Strip and said that a significant number of civilians who are not involved in the issue are losing their lives.
In the early years of the second Palestinian intifada, the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime also considers the prisoners in Gaza to be another great challenge for Israel. Barak also mentioned the technical complexities of any military effort to rescue them.
According to Barak, in order to be accurate, such an operation requires significant information if it is not “even almost” clear where the captives are.
