Ehud Olmert: Destroying Hamas is an unattainable goal.
Israel must declare an end to the war.
Amid ongoing confessions by Zionists about the erosion of the Gaza war and Israel’s inability to achieve its goals, “Ehud Olmert,” the former Prime Minister of the Zionist regime, declared in an article in the Hebrew newspaper Haaretz that the destruction of Hamas is an unattainable goal and Israel is facing tough days ahead.
Olmert added that from the moment Benjamin Netanyahu (the current Prime Minister of the Zionist regime) announced that the destruction of Hamas was the main goal of the war against Gaza, there was no chance of achieving this goal. Even at that time, everyone who thought about this knew that the destruction of Hamas was merely a wish that was not even possible to achieve under conditions other than the current conditions in Gaza. Even Israel’s intelligence data before October 7 was enough to know that there is a complex network of tunnels throughout Gaza.
The article continues to state that our experience with the tunnels of Gaza in the 2014 war was enough to know that the existence of this complex network of tunnels in Gaza prevents Israel from conducting a swift and decisive military operation to destroy Hamas; even under conditions easier than the current ones. Therefore, breaking Hamas is not easy at all. Netanyahu knew from the beginning that his words were baseless and ultimately surrendered to military and human realities and collapsed.
The former Prime Minister of the Zionist regime further stated that this situation forces Israel to conclude the current campaign. Now is the time to know that there are many ways to defeat Hamas and we have not even reached a point where we can control the timeline for the war that began on October 7.
He continued, we must expect tough days; especially when the number of army casualties continues to rise and in addition to the massacres and destruction that Israel has committed in Gaza, a heavy shadow is cast over the Israelis and even the support and patience that our closest friends had towards Israel is weakening. But what should we do now? I think it’s time for Israel to declare its readiness to end the war. Yes, end the war and Israel must bring back its living and dead from Gaza.
