The statement of the Public Relations Office of the Prime Minister of Pakistan stated: Prime Minister (Pakistan) Shahbaz Sharif had a telephone conversation with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezzekian today on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.

The statement added: The Prime Minister of Pakistan extended his most sincere congratulations to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the brotherly people of Iran on the occasion of this auspicious day. He also conveyed his respects and good wishes to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei.

According to the statement, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Prime Minister of Pakistan exchanged views on regional and international issues, especially the situation in Gaza and developments in South Asia.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan announced that in this conversation, Shahbaz Sharif renewed his invitation to Pezzekian to pay an official visit to Pakistan.

According to the statement, Shahbaz Sharif, recalling his recent visit to Tehran, emphasized Pakistan’s desire to further strengthen bilateral relations with Iran in areas of mutual interest. The two sides also agreed to increase bilateral cooperation in various fields.

Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, also spoke by telephone today (Saturday) with Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
