Emir of Qatar: The Palestinian people should not remain prisoners of Israel’s arbitrariness

Pak Sahafat – In his speech at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, the Emir of Qatar said that the Palestinian nation should not remain captive to the arbitrariness of the Israeli occupation.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, Emir of Qatar, said on Tuesday that this country expresses solidarity with the two nations of Morocco and Libya regarding the victims of the recent earthquake and storm.

Speaking at the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly, he said: “The increasing progress of technology and increasing reliance on it have created unprecedented horizons for human development, and our task is to keep pace with scientific and technical development, and the barriers between countries in this field should be removed, and we once again call for unifying efforts to not abuse space”.

The Emir of Qatar added: “Occupation in the 21st century has taken the form of an apartheid system, and the Palestinian nation cannot be allowed to remain captive to the arbitrariness of the Israeli occupiers.”

He also mentioned the situation in Afghanistan and said that we will continue to coordinate international efforts to ensure adherence to the Doha Agreement so that Afghanistan is not allowed to go towards a crisis that has been difficult to resolve.

Tamim bin Hamad said: “Resolving conflicts by peaceful means is long and difficult, but it costs less than wars.”

The Emir of Qatar also pointed to the recent insults to the Holy Quran and said: “I say to our Muslim brothers, it is not permissible for a foolish person to occupy us by insulting the Quran.”

He added that we should not forget that there are nations in the world who are currently living with suffering, and we must work to eliminate the oppression against these people.

Continuing his speech at the UN General Assembly, Tamim bin Hamad said: “Once again, we call on all parties to respect the UN Charter and respect the sovereignty of countries and their territorial integrity.”
