PNN – An Emirati official said in a statement that the country does not expect negotiations to purchase F-35 fighter jets from the United States, which were suspended in 2021, to be revived.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network from Reuters news agency, a senior official of the UAE government said that this country does not expect to resume negotiations with Washington on the multibillion-dollar contract for the purchase of F-35 fighters, regardless of the winner of the US presidential election, which is scheduled to be held in November.
This Emirati official added: The same factors that caused the suspension of negotiations in 2021 have not changed and the government has no plans to start negotiations.

In a statement to Reuters, he said: Our position remains unchanged and we don’t expect the F-35 fighter to be discussed again in the foreseeable future, regardless of the outcome of the American elections.
This Emirati official, whose name has not been mentioned, added: Technical issues, operational limitations and cost-benefit estimation at that time led to a review of these negotiations, and these considerations are still valid.
Earlier, Reuters reported, quoting UAE officials, that the country is seeking to revive a multi-billion-dollar contract with Donald Trump, the former president of the United States and the candidate for the country’s new elections, to acquire F-35 and MQ-9 drones.
The United Arab Emirates has been looking for F-35 fighters for a long time, and if the United States agrees, this country, along with the Zionist regime, will be the only owners of this generation of stealth fighters in the Middle East.
