Erdogan in a conversation with the Pope: The silence of the international community regarding the massacre in Gaza is shameful

PNN – Today, in a conversation with the Pope, the President of Turkey strongly criticized the silence of the international community regarding the “massacre” of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and described it as shameful.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Turkish President Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan spoke today in a phone conversation with Pope France, the leader of world Catholics, about the crimes of the Zionist regime against the Gaza Strip, the growing violation of human rights.

Erdogan stated: Israel’s attacks on Gaza are a massacre and the silence of the international community is shameful.

According to “Anatolia” news agency, the President of Turkey, who spoke in support of the Palestinian people yesterday, stated in this phone call: Israel’s attacks on Gaza, which have no place in any holy book, have reached the border of massacre.

A few days ago, Pope Francis called for the creation of humanitarian corridors to help the besieged people in Gaza, strongly calling for children, the sick, the elderly, women and all civilians to be removed from the conflict.

In the continuation of his speech, Pope Francis added: “Human rights must be respected, especially in Gaza.”

Yesterday, the Turkish president also openly supported the Palestinian resistance and while announcing the cancellation of his trip to the occupied Palestinian territories, he said that Hamas is not a terrorist group, but its members are “liberators” who fight for their lands and people.

He said: “We had good intentions towards Israel, but they abused our good intentions, and I canceled my trip to Israel.”

Erdogan distinguished between the Jewish people and the Zionists and said: “The Jewish people know very well that Turkey is the only land where anti-Semitism has not existed for centuries.”

In this statement, the Zionist regime also described Hamas as “an evil group worse than ISIS” and, despite the settlers’ recognition of Hamas’s humane treatment of prisoners, accused this group of killing children and women.
