Erdoğan: The formation of an independent Palestinian state is the way to achieve peace in the region

PNN – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasized in his statements that the formation of independent Palestine is the way to achieve peace in the region.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network from Türkiye’s Anatolia news agency, in a joint press conference with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in Ankara, Turkish President Erdoğan said about the UN General Assembly resolution regarding Palestine’s full membership in this body: The establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders is the way to achieve peace in the region.

The President of Turkey continued by rejecting the Hamas movement as a terrorist and added: The resistance movement defends its occupied lands.

He said: The international community, especially the Western countries, should take a stand against the killing of more than 35,000 Palestinian civilians.

Erdogan added: We will continue our diplomatic relations to force (the regime) Israel to establish a ceasefire and increase the recognition of the independent state of Palestine.

On October 7, 2023, the Palestinian resistance groups launched the “Al-Aqsa Storm” operation from Gaza against the positions of the Israeli regime, and finally, on November 24, 2023, a four-day temporary ceasefire was established, or the pause for the exchange of prisoners between Hamas and Israel.

This pause in the war continued for seven days, and finally, on the morning of Friday, December 1, 2023, the temporary ceasefire ended and the Israeli regime resumed attacks against Gaza.

In order to compensate for its failure and stop the resistance operations, this regime has closed the crossings of the Gaza Strip and is bombing this area.
