Erdogan: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation should create a financial institution for the reconstruction of Gaza.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said at the meeting of heads of Islamic countries that was held in Riyadh this Saturday: Western countries, which do not speak about human rights and freedom, have remained silent in front of this massacre, which is shameful.
Referring to the agreement of 121 members of the United Nations with the cease-fire in Gaza, he said: This voting showed how lonely Israel and its supporters are.
The President of Turkey continued: In the case of Charlie Hebdo, the heads of the countries go to France to express solidarity, but 12 thousand people have died in Palestine, and we do not see any reaction from them, and this is shameful.
Erdoğan stated that it is not right to put the resistance fighters for the homeland and the occupiers on the same scale, and said: Israel is taking revenge for the October 7 incident (Operation Storm Al-Aqsa) from children and women. Our priority is to establish a ceasefire and start humanitarian aid without stopping it. The important issue is not a temporary ceasefire but a permanent ceasefire.
He added: Schools, hospitals, and refugee camps are being bombed, civilians are being massacred and we are witnessing an unparalleled brutality in history. In order for Gaza to stand on its feet again, I believe that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation should create a financial institution.
Pointing out that regardless of the Palestinian issue, the measures for the normalization process in the region are doomed to failure, the Turkish president said: “We are ready to create peace and guarantee it.”
