Erdogan: We will not allow a corridor from South to North of Syria’
On Thursday evening, after the Kabiha meeting, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in a speech about the developments in the region, reminded that the Israeli regime is doing its utmost to drown the region in bloodshed, chaos and turmoil, and said: Since October 7, 2023, 58 thousand of our Palestinian brothers and sisters have been martyred in Gaza. The number of our wounded brothers has exceeded 138 thousand. In addition to Palestine, Israel has also attacked Lebanon, Yemen and Iran. There, it has massacred innocents and bombed civilian settlements.
He added: As if all this were not enough, Israel has used the Druze as an excuse to expand its banditry to Syria in the past two days. I want to declare once again, loud and clear: Israel is a lawless, rebellious, unprincipled, spoiled and pampered terrorist state.
The Turkish President stated that this pain, this brutality, this genocide, this aggression that has been inflicted on the entire region will never be forgotten; it will leave deep wounds on consciences, and said: If this monster is not stopped immediately, it will not hesitate to set our region and then the world on fire. We see this. We have been boldly expressing this truth at the highest level for two years. Not only that, but we are taking the necessary precautions against any scenario.
Erdogan continued: “Protecting the territorial integrity, national unity, single structure and multicultural identity of our neighbor Syria is our fundamental policy. We did not consent to the division of Syria yesterday and we certainly will not consent to it today or tomorrow. Those who dream of destroying the territorial integrity of Syria and especially opening a corridor between its south and north will, God willing, fail in achieving their goals. We will not allow this to happen, together with our Syrian brothers and sisters.”
Pointing out that those who fall into the well with the Israeli rope will sooner or later realize their great miscalculation, he stated: “I also want them to know this: Just as the Kurdish people on our borders are our citizens, the Kurds of Syria are our true brothers and sisters, part of our soul. God willing, we will not allow them to become prey to Zionism. Our greatest wish is that the Syrian people, including all segments of society – Arabs, Turkmen, Kurds, Christians, Sunnis, Alawites and Druze – live in peace.”
