Europe’s tough test; Defense of human rights or appeasement with the Zionist regime?

PNN – While the representative of the Zionist regime in Brussels is trying to justify the crimes of this regime in Gaza by projection and lobbying, the European Union is facing a difficult and decisive test to prove its claimed principles.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the meeting between the European Union and the Zionist regime in the form of the Cooperation Council of the two sides will be held in a situation where since the beginning of the Gaza war, many European countries have emphasized the need to hold this regime accountable for war crimes in the Gaza Strip; But Tel Aviv has so far refused to attend such a meeting. Now that a fragile cease-fire agreement has been reached in Gaza, it seems that the regime intends to use the upcoming meeting to clean up the crimes and pressure Europe to reduce international criticism against it.

Gideon Sa’er, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Zionist regime, before the beginning of the meeting, once again emphasized the continuation of the war in Gaza until the release of all the hostages (Israeli prisoners) and said: The war in Gaza will not end until all the hostages return home. In order to legitimize the crimes of this regime, he claimed that military operations in the West Bank are being carried out with the aim of “fighting terrorism”.

While some European countries emphasize the need to rebuild Gaza and increase humanitarian aid, the Israeli foreign minister said: We are not talking about the future of Gaza yet. First, we must free our hostages and ensure that Gaza is completely disarmed of terrorist groups. He also implicitly threatened that if an agreement is not reached, a wider military operation will be resumed in Gaza.

The meeting will be held while inside Europe, there are serious differences of opinion about the continuation of relations with the Israeli regime and the review of cooperation agreements between the two sides. Some European countries, including Ireland, Spain and Belgium, had previously called for a review of the cooperation agreement between the European Union and Israel. They believe that Tel Aviv violated the human rights requirements of this agreement by violating human rights in Gaza and the West Bank.

In response to this question, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Zionist regime said, “Some countries believe that the serious violation of human rights by Israel requires the European Union to review its relations with this regime. What is your response to these countries? He ignored the criticism and thanked EU foreign policy Chief Kaia Callas for inviting him to today’s meeting. He claimed: We are used to facing criticisms, but we do not allow these criticisms to become a tool to delegitimize Israel.

Some analysts believe that today’s meeting is a tool for Tel Aviv to put pressure on the European Union, rather than an opportunity to hold the Israeli regime accountable. While the judgment of the Hague Court on the genocide in Gaza, the requests for sanctions against Israel and the reduction of the unconditional support of some allies have put the Zionist regime in a tight spot, Tel Aviv is looking for a way out of isolation and changing the narrative of the war in its favor.

Now the European Union is facing a crucial test as the champion of human rights. The outcome of today’s meeting will show whether the European Union adheres to its claimed principles of human rights, or will it continue its dual policy under the pressure of the Zionist lobbies?
