Ex-Syrian MP: Jolani executes foreign agendas in Syria.
In an interview with the Iraqi Al-Ahd network, Walid Al-Darwish stated that the current government in Damascus poses a threat to the national security of both Iraq and Lebanon. The former member of the Syrian parliament noted that one of the conditions for Al-Sharaa’s participation in the so-called “international coalition to combat terrorism” is to take action against the Popular Mobilization Forces, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Hezbollah, and all honorable resistance groups.
Al-Darwish emphasized that the Golani government in Syria is inciting sectarian tensions and is actively implementing the agendas of the United States, the Israeli government, and Turkey within Syria.
In this context, tens of thousands of Syrian citizens, responding to a call from Sheikh Ghazal Ghazal, the head of the Supreme Islamic Council of Alawites, protested against sectarian massacres and arbitrary arrests carried out by Golani elements. This widespread and peaceful uprising took place in several cities across the provinces of Latakia, Tartous, Homs, and Hama.
Demonstrations erupted in Tartous and its suburbs, the city of Banias, as well as in Latakia, Jabla, Qardaha, and surrounding villages, and in various locations throughout the Hama and Homs provinces. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented these protests, where participants chanted slogans advocating for federalism, the release of prisoners, and an end to the sectarian measures that have affected Alawites over the past year.
Reports from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights indicated that public security forces affiliated with the Golani interim government opened fire on protesters and ran over some individuals with government vehicles. The Observatory also reported that Golani security forces arrested several protesters in Al-Zahraa Square in Homs.
