Expansion of the movement to stop supporting Harris in important US states

PNN – A coalition of Muslim and Arab American leaders have expanded their movement to the states of Wisconsin and Georgia, which are important in the elections, to prevent Vice President Joe Biden from entering the White House; A coalition that says Kamala Harris is a pro-genocide candidate.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, this group, which operates under the name “Leave Harris”, announced on Friday local time that it will start its activities in important electoral states. The group has also launched a massive effort to undercut Harris and steer voters toward Green Party candidate Jill Stein, who has endorsed the movement.

The American newspaper Washington Times reported that the group’s spokesman, Hassan Abdul salam, said that the group’s supporters cannot support Harris because he has not seriously pushed for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and rejected the idea of a complete arms embargo on the Zionist regime.

A spokesman for the Leave Harris group said Harris was promoting a ceasefire to appeal to Muslim and Arab-American voters, while doing nothing to stop the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Abdul salam said the group’s goal is to ensure Harris’ defeat in electorally important states.

Muslim voters, along with young progressives who see the Zionist regime as the cause of the conflict, could create problems for Harris in electoral states.

In 2020, the electoral fate of Wisconsin was decided by just 20,000 votes, and according to census data, approximately 40,000 Muslim voters live there. Data compiled by the 538 poll showed that Harris and former US President Donald Trump are tied in Wisconsin.

Among Muslim voters in Wisconsin, Harris trails Stein, according to a Marquette University poll. Stein has repeatedly promised to end the “genocidal war” in Gaza. Stein has 44% of Muslim support, while this figure is only 39% for Harris and 8% for Trump.

Muslims across America supported Biden with 86% of votes for four years. This support for Trump was only 6%.

Trump and Harris are roughly tied in national polls among Arab Americans, with 42 percent and 41 percent support, respectively, according to the Arab American Institute. Among people who are likely to participate in the elections, support for Trump is 46% and support for Harris is 42%.

Polls show that it is Trump who is benefiting from the Arab community’s frustration and anger over the failure of the Biden administration to contain the war in Gaza.

The US presidential election will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, and the winner of this election will begin the four-year presidential term from January 2025.
