Exposing the deadly self-mutilation of the US military in Iraq after 20 years

PNN – An American channel revealed that the country’s army targeted and killed a number of American soldiers in the city of Fallujah in Iraq in 2004.

According to Pakistan News Network, “American National Radio” (NPR) said in a report that in 2004, during the [first] battle of the city of Fallujah, 15 American soldiers and an Iraqi translator were killed by the fire of internal forces.

The American media revealed that this issue was kept secret for years because the perpetrator of the incident was an American officer whose father was a member of the US House of Representatives at the time. But now the representatives of the Senate have reopened the case and the families of the victims are preparing to launch a movement to reveal the details of the case and the reasons for concealing the nature of the incident.

According to the report, US Army artillery shelled the schoolyard where the Marines were entrenched, but the soldiers’ families were told they had been killed in an attack by Iraqi militias.

But now the “United States Marine Corps” has been forced to admit that it made a mistake under pressure from congressmen.

American National Radio found out a few months ago that the son of a politician was responsible for this big gaffe, and this caused the whole story to be covered up.

Now Mark Kelly, a Democrat from Arizona and a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, has asked the Marine Corps to answer the questions. He told NPR: “The families of those killed should know the truth, not only them, but also the people who were injured in that incident should be informed, why were they not told until now, why did it take so long to reveal the truth?”

The first battle of Fallujah refers to the intense conflict between the American military with the residents of Fallujah and the militias inside the city, which lasted from April 4th, 2004 to May 1st of the same year (27 days), and in practice the American army could not dominate the city. The American army suffered heavy losses in this battle, which made then President George W. Bush say: “Our troops have had a tough week and I pray every day that the casualties will decrease.”

The defenders of the city and the militia continued to control the city until the second battle (December 2004).
