Faded Dreams: What were Netanyahu’s 4 major goals that were not achieved in Gaza?
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu launched the Gaza war with four major and specific goals. He promised that he would only achieve the war by achieving these goals, but in the end, despite having sold the dream of victory to the Zionist community, he recorded a new defeat in his record by withdrawing from the Gaza Strip.
But the question that arises is what were the four goals that Netanyahu failed to achieve in Gaza? In this report, we intend to address this issue;
1. Destroying the Hamas movement
The declared goals of the plan: Destroying the main infrastructure of the Palestinian Islamic resistance movement Hamas and its extensive network of underground tunnels.
2. Returning Zionist prisoners through the military option
Objectives of the plan: To release dozens of Zionist prisoners who were held by Hamas forces in the Gaza Strip after 471 days of war.
Results: The release of a small number of Zionist prisoners in Gaza through operations despite heavy attacks and a clear failure to fulfill the promises made through the military option.
According to Shahab News, to free its prisoners from Gaza, the Zionist regime was forced to release 1,737 Palestinian prisoners, many of whom were sentenced to life imprisonment, and was also forced to release all female and child prisoners.
3. Permanent control over the Philadelphia and Netzarim axes
Objectives of the plan: Continued occupation of the Philadelphia axis by the Zionist army to cut off the channel of arms aid to the Palestinian resistance.
4. Implementing the provisions of the Zionist Generals’ plan
Goals of the plan: Resumption of settlement construction in the Gaza Strip based on the plan presented by the former generals of the Zionist regime’s army.
