William & Conley, one of the companies the FBI says was targeted, told Reuters that hackers had accessed some of its computer systems, but did not name China as the source of the attacks.
The company also added that there is no evidence yet to indicate whether confidential client data was leaked.
The FBI and the Chinese embassy in Washington have not yet commented on the matter. American officials have for decades alleged hacking activities attributed to China in the United States. Beijing has denied the allegations.
