Fidan: Türkiye is ready to accept all responsibilities for resolving the Palestinian issue.

According to Anadolu, Hakan Fidan, in an interview with Al Jazeera regarding the Israeli regime’s objection to Turkey’s participation in the “International Stabilization Force” in Gaza, added: “Israel is not the only decision-maker on this plan.”

He emphasized that if the US can reach an agreement with Israel, it will be favorable for Turkey, but otherwise, Ankara will continue on its path.

The Turkish Foreign Minister added that many of the clauses of the so-called Trump peace plan have not yet been implemented, and the Israeli regime continues to kill Palestinians daily.

He considered the main goal of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to be the complete evacuation of Gaza from Palestinians and the transformation of it into Israeli territory.

Fidan added that the UN Security Council has issued the necessary decisions for the second phase of the peace plan, and now its clauses must be implemented.

The Turkish Foreign Minister, acknowledging that the risk of the so-called Trump peace plan failing is always there, said: “We don’t even want to think about it, because the alternative is nothing but greater genocide and displacement.”

He called for pressure on the Israeli regime to abandon extremist demands and, referring to the political will of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said: Ankara is ready to assume all responsibilities for resolving the Palestinian issue and achieving peace.

Fidan added that this path has not been easy, and extensive efforts have been made behind the scenes.

The human dimension of the crisis
The Turkish Foreign Minister, referring to the two years of war and the killing of civilians, said: “The martyrdom of 70,000 people and the injury or disappearance of tens of thousands has left a deep wound on the human conscience.”

He stressed that humanitarian aid is still insufficient and that entry and exit to Gaza are still difficult.

Fidan placed greater responsibility on the shoulders of the United States and President Donald Trump, saying: “Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt and Jordan are all working with all their might, and we expect important steps to be taken in the coming days.”

He considered the formation of a “peace council,” the transfer of Gaza administration to the Palestinians, its handover from Hamas to the Palestinian technical committee, and the establishment of a police force to be key issues in Gaza, adding: “Turkey is ready to assume any responsibility, together with regional countries and international partners, and if sending troops for peace is needed, we are ready for that as well.”

The Turkish Foreign Minister noted that UN Security Council decisions require the agreement of the parties to the conflict, and Israel must show flexibility in this regard.

Zionist regime launched the war against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023 with two main goals: to destroy the Hamas movement and return the Zionist prisoners from this region, but it failed to achieve these goals and was forced to reach an agreement with the Hamas movement to exchange prisoners.

Hamas movement officially announced the achievement of an agreement to end the war in the Gaza Strip and exchange prisoners.
