According to the Financial Times, the Israeli army has refused to confirm or deny these figures, but the spokesman of the Israeli army, Richard Hecht, said that the Zionist military is implementing the creation of this buffer zone in order to prevent what it calls the activities of the Hamas movement.
In a press conference with reporters, Yadlin added: This buffer zone is to make sure that October 7 [Operation Storm Al-Aqsa] will not happen again.
According to the Financial Times, the creation of such a zone on the border of the Gaza Strip is one of the issues on which the Israeli regime and the United States disagree, and Washington has repeatedly stated that it will oppose any measures that lead to the reduction of the area of the Gaza Strip.
US National Security Spokesman John Kirby reiterated this position on Tuesday and claimed: We do not want to see the reduction of Gaza territory in any way.
