Financial Times: Western promises to support Ukraine are ambiguous.
This English newspaper wrote: While the US government’s $60 billion package to help Ukraine was suddenly stopped in that country’s Congress, the European Union members may also withdraw from the promise of 50 billion euros months ago due to increasing differences among themselves. Give up on Ukraine, which is currently at a very sensitive and dangerous point of confrontation with Russia.
Citing the statements of the European officials involved in this matter, the Financial Times wrote: until the member states of this union reach an agreement on the completion of the common budget among themselves, including the allocation of 50 billion euros for the aid of Ukraine, before the meeting of the heads of the union in Brussels on the 14th and 15th December is still a long way off.
It should be noted that the victory of a far-right party in last month’s elections in the Netherlands and the recent ruling of the German court to limit government borrowing have made efforts to reach an agreement on the future of aid to Ukraine difficult.
At the same time, Viktor Orbán, the Prime Minister of Hungary, also warned that he will veto the start of negotiations for Ukraine’s membership in the European Union.
