First official vote count in the US/Trump and Harris tied.

First official vote count in the US/Trump and Harris tied.

According to NBC News, the 2024 presidential election began hours ago with voting in the small town of Dixville Notch, New Hampshire, and the official vote count shows that six people participated in the election.

Three of the six voted for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, and three others voted for Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.

Polls in the small town opened at midnight and closed at 12:07 a.m. Tuesday (local time).

Early voting in the small town dates back to a tradition that dates back to the 1960s; voters drop their ballots in a wooden box shortly after midnight, and the results are announced minutes later.

In the 2022 election, current US President Joe Biden won all five votes in Dixville Notch, and in the 2016 election, four voted for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and two for Republican nominee Donald Trump.

According to the latest NBC News poll, with one day to go before the 2024 US presidential election, Kamala Harris and Donald Trump are neck and neck in the race, respectively.

According to the poll, both candidates have the support of 49 percent of registered voters, with only 2 percent still undecided.

NBC emphasized that Harris’ support is based on “increasing Democratic enthusiasm and a 20-point lead over Trump on issues such as abortion, as well as Harris’s superiority in attracting candidates to the middle class.”

According to the network, Trump “has the support of two-thirds of voters who believe America is headed in the wrong direction. He also has a double-digit lead over Harris on the economy and the cost of living.”

The poll was conducted between November 30 and 2 among 1,000 registered voters, with most of the responses being collected by phone. The poll has a margin of error of 3.1 percentage points.

States go to the polls tomorrow (Tuesday, November 5). More than 75 million Americans have already cast their ballots in early voting.

President Joe Biden, who faced criticism from Democrats after a disappointing debate with Trump in June, was forced to withdraw, and Harris, his running mate, was then announced as the party’s nominee.
