PNN – Since the beginning of the US-Israeli aggression against Iran, the statements of American politicians have become increasingly far from reality. Sputnik has compiled a list of the main lies.
- Iran’s nuclear weapons
On February 28, Trump stated that Iran had developed nuclear weapons that threatened U.S. allies and could reach the United States “soon.” However, in June 2025, Trump himself claimed that Iran’s nuclear program had been destroyed. This begs the question: Was the United States lying then or now?
- “Iranian missiles ‘threaten the United States'”
Trump claimed that Iranian missiles would soon reach the United States. However, the Pentagon’s Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) stated in May 2025 that Iran would need years to develop long-range missiles. The current range is 2,500 kilometers, while the United States is at least 11,000 kilometers away.
- Attack on a school in Minab
Trump blamed Iran for the attack on the school that killed 175 people. However, media investigations and leaked information from the Pentagon confirmed that the attack was carried out by an American Tomahawk missile. The reason was a “targeting error.”
- The United States can ensure the safe passage of oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz
Trump promised military escorts for the tankers. In fact, the US has rejected all requests, and at least 10 ships that relied on the US have already been destroyed by the Iranian navy.
- Iran’s successful attacks on American bases in the region and pro-government rallies in Iran are films produced by artificial intelligence.
Trump claimed that videos of attacks on American bases in the Middle East and pro-government rallies in Iran were created by artificial intelligence, and that Iranian officials were exaggerating the size of the rallies in support of the country’s new leader. However, these videos are being shared not only by Iranian media outlets, but also by international media outlets and ordinary social media users, which undermines Trump’s narrative.
