Foreign Affairs: Tel Aviv can never destroy Hezbollah.
Citing Al Jazeera, the Foreign Affairs magazine wrote in a report on the impact of assassinations of Hezbollah leaders on the power of this organization: “Adopting this policy will increase Hezbollah’s influence in the long term because a review of the history of Lebanon shows that the occupation of the country by Israel has strengthened anti-Tel Aviv groups, led by Hezbollah.”
The report states that a review of Hezbollah’s history shows that whenever the leaders of this party have been assassinated by the Zionist regime, Hezbollah’s power and the intensity of its attacks have increased; as we witnessed after the assassination of Abbas al-Moussawi, the former Secretary General of Hezbollah, that the positions of the Zionist regime were targeted for the first time.
The report further emphasizes that the policy of assassination is successful in very rare cases and can weaken armed groups, and on the other hand, the perpetrators of these assassinations, namely Israel and the United States, clearly violate international law.
According to the logic of Netanyahu and the leaders of the Zionist regime, the policy of assassinating Hezbollah leaders could destroy the party forever, but the reality is that Hezbollah is a 40-year-old organization with a broad social base and a political party with representatives in the Lebanese parliament and government that can adapt to new conditions.
These assassinations may create a temporary vacuum in Hezbollah, but the party’s forces will soon reorganize their ranks. The policy of assassination only prolongs the conflict, not its final resolution.
