Foreign Policy admits: America cannot be trusted.
The American media outlet wrote: On June 25, US President Donald Trump met with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky during a NATO summit in The Hague. Everything seemed to go well during the meeting.
After the meeting, Zelensky said that he had asked for help to defend Ukrainian civilians against the escalating Russian airstrikes. Trump also expressed satisfaction with this and confirmed that they want to have anti-missile missiles, as they call them Patriots, and we will see if we can provide them with some of them.
The outlet questioned Trump’s assurances and his lack of knowledge of Pentagon policies, noting: On July 1, the Pentagon shocked Ukraine and U.S. allies by announcing that it would halt all shipments of Patriot missiles to Ukraine, along with Stinger anti-aircraft missiles, artillery shells, and Sparrow air-to-air missiles used by F-16 fighters. Many of these weapons had already been delivered to Poland and were waiting to cross the border.
Trump recently promised again that he would send some defensive weapons to Ukraine. Can Ukraine keep this promise? According to media reports, Trump appears to be unaware of the Defense Department’s decision to withhold aid. Is this exactly how Trump is conducting U.S. policy toward Russia and Ukraine?
In part of its report, Foreign Policy also referred to the distrust of Washington’s European allies, writing: “In the current situation, the United States uses every opportunity to demonstrate its unreliability.”
