PNN – The former US ambassador to NATO acknowledged some political concerns from NATO allies on Monday, which have been heightened after President Joe Biden’s poor performance in a debate with Donald Trump.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, “Kurt Volker”, the former US ambassador to NATO and Washington’s special representative in the Ukraine negotiations, told CNN that the allies will focus on two areas in the meeting in Washington DC.
He said: America’s first area of leadership is in NATO. Is Biden going to be president? Does he have the ability to lead? Is he running for re-election, is he going to be re-elected?

Volker added: The second concern is about the possibility of forming a second Trump administration and the doubts of the former president about the future of Washington’s support for the coalition: So NATO members are worried – if Biden doesn’t come and Donald Trump becomes president, what will this mean for the support of America and Ukraine?
Many Europeans have also expressed concerns about a possible Trump presidency and its impact on the alliance, especially as Ukraine struggles with Russian aggression.
A European diplomat also told CNN, referring to Trump’s campaign statements that he would encourage Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin to the negotiating table: We are all worried about the US presidential election.
There are concerns that if Trump is re-elected, US support for Ukraine will be conditional on Kiev entering the negotiations.
This diplomat said: If the US adopts such a position, it will be difficult to maintain the support of Europe.
