Former British diplomat: The Hamas movement will not disappear / fighting the Palestinian resistance is not the solution

PNN – In response to the expansion of the scope of the Gaza war and the recent terrorist operations of the Zionist regime in Lebanon, the former British Deputy Foreign Minister stated that fighting the Palestinian resistance is not the solution and this movement will not disappear.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Alastair Burt, who was the British Deputy Foreign Minister for the Middle East and North Africa from 2017 to 2019, said in an interview with LBC on Friday: [Benjamin] Netanyahu (Prime Minister of the Zionist regime) knows that his political survival depends on the fate of what happened on October 7, because Israelis feel that they have been betrayed in terms of security.

He added: But the question is, can he achieve the desired result? Some elements of his cabinet are inclined to carry out more operations against Hamas, but the question is how long this process is going to continue.

The former British diplomat stated that there is no end to the war and the continuation of conflicts, and claimed that a conclusion should be reached only through negotiations, in which the issues related to Gaza, the West Bank, East Jerusalem, northern Israel (occupied Palestine) and Lebanon should be discussed.

The possibility of a cease-fire in Gaza before the end of the “Biden” term is weak.

At the same time, he described achieving the desired result through negotiation as an exhausting and difficult process and claimed: Whenever we reached a difficult situation in the talks, the talks stopped, the conflicts continued and people were killed as a result. With these qualities, Bret considered negotiation to be better than fighting and claimed that in this way the concerns of the parties would be resolved.

The former deputy foreign minister of the UK stressed that the Hamas movement will not disappear, adding that the goals of those he called extreme warmongers in Netanyahu’s cabinet will not be achieved.

During terrorist operations on Tuesday and Wednesday in Lebanon, the Zionist regime killed at least 37 Lebanese citizens and injured more than 4 thousand others by blowing up thousands of pagers, wireless devices and communication systems.

In its latest statement, Hezbollah of Lebanon emphasized that the crime of the Zionist regime doubles the determination of the resistance forces for Jihad, and announced that the occupying regime will pay a heavy price for this crime.

So far, many countries of the world and international institutions have condemned the recent explosions in Lebanon and emphasized the need to reduce tensions in the region. Of course, the British government, as one of the main supporters of the Zionist regime, has expressed concern about civilian casualties and has invited the conflicting parties to de-escalate and calm down.

British Foreign Minister David Lemmy posted a message on the X social network (formerly Twitter) and wrote that he had a conversation with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati and expressed concern about the growing tensions and civilian casualties in Lebanon. He said: We discussed the need for a negotiated solution in order to restore stability and security along the Blue Line.
