Former British official: We are at war with Russia.
According to Tass, the former head of the British spy service admitted that this country is involved in a war with Russia.
Richard Dearlove, the former head of the British spy service known as MICX, has warned that Britain is currently involved in an indirect war with Russia, but neither the authorities nor the public take this situation seriously enough.
The former head of the British spy service, who led the British secret service between 1999 and 2004, said in an interview with Politico that the British military does not have enough funds to deal with threats from Moscow and Beijing.
“If you ask someone in the street if they think England is at war, they’ll look at you like you’re crazy,” said Dearlove. But we are at war and I try to remind people of that.
The former British intelligence official said that the country’s authorities must make tough choices and must spend at least 2.5 percent of the country’s gross domestic product on defense.
Last week, the UK budget for the next financial year was announced, in which there was no increase in defense spending and it remained at the level of 2% of the country’s GDP.
