Former head of Shabak: The war in Gaza is over, but Hamas remains in power

PNN – The former head of the internal security agency of the Zionist regime (Shabak) stating that the war in Gaza has ended and the ceasefire may continue for five or six years, added: Nevertheless, Hamas remains in power.

According to Pakistan News Network, quoted by Sama News, in an interview with Channel 12 of the Zionist regime, Kermi Gilon claimed that the Hamas movement was hit hard in this revenge war, but as long as there is a void in the Gaza Strip and there is no one to fill it, it will remain in power.

Gilon added: The ceasefire will continue for 6 years, and after that rockets will be fired from Gaza towards the occupied territories.

Referring to the surprise operations of the Palestinian resistance on the 7th of October and the attack on military positions and Zionist settlements around Gaza, the former head of Shabak said: I think the events of the 7th of October will not be repeated.

Karmi Gilon stated: I believe that the war is over and the only reason for the Israeli army to remain in the field is to return the Israeli prisoners in Gaza, and they can only be released with military pressure.

Gilon, who was the head of Shabak between 1994 and 1996, said about the failure of the Zionist regime on October 7 that no one even imagined that such an event would happen.

He added: I have no comment related to the intelligence organization, and I think that with the continuation of the war and the disclosure of more facts about the preparation of Hamas, the terrible and great failures of Israel’s intelligence will be revealed.

On October 7, 2023, the Palestinian resistance groups launched the “Al-Aqsa Storm” operation from Gaza against the positions of the Israeli regime, and finally, on November 24, 2023, a four-day temporary ceasefire was established between Israel and Hamas, or the pause for the exchange of prisoners between Hamas and Israel.

This pause in the war continued for seven days and finally on the morning of Friday, December 10, 2023, the temporary ceasefire ended and the Israeli regime resumed attacks on Gaza. In order to retaliate for the surprise attacks of the “Al-Aqsa storm” and to compensate for its defeat and stop the resistance operations, this regime has closed all the crossings of the Gaza Strip and is bombing this area, and the Palestinian resistance fighters, despite the lack of facilities and the siege of the Gaza Strip.

In recent days, news has been published about the efforts of Qatar, Egypt and several other countries to stop the Zionist regime’s encroachment on Gaza.
