Former Israeli Navy Commander: Gaza War Has Reached a Dead End; Hamas Will Not Surrender.
According to the security media outlet “Walanews,” “Eliezer Marum,” former commander of the Israeli Navy, in an interview with “Radio 103 FM” today, examined the conditions of the occupiers in the Gaza war and made harsh criticisms of the political officials of the regime.
According to this report, while some political officials of the Israeli regime, especially Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of the regime, insist that Israel is close to victory in Operation “Gideon’s Chariots” in Gaza, the former commander of the Navy admits that the war in Gaza has reached a stalemate and that the Israeli army is not capable of destroying the Hamas movement.
Marum stated in this interview that if the Israeli regime insists on advancing in Gaza and continues the war, it will certainly “lose everything.”
According to this former commander, the military capability of the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip has ended, and an agreement must be reached for the Israeli soldiers to withdraw from the Morag axis, the prisoners to be released, and the war to end.
Continuing the interview, he stated that the reason for the Israeli regime not to withdraw from the Morag axis was the establishment of a “humanitarian city” between this axis and “Salah al-Din”, and he clarified that this measure would not be possible and that the army’s attempt to control the Palestinian population would not be acceptable to world public opinion, especially without international propaganda.
This former military commander, confirming Olmert’s words that the establishment of the humanitarian city is like a “concentration camp,” said, “There is a feeling in the world that we are putting the Palestinians in a kind of cage and controlling them and will eventually expel them from the Gaza Strip.”
Marum added, “However, it is very difficult to justify the establishment of this city and the transfer of the Palestinian population to it in the face of world public opinion, and if political authorities take this action without any justification or propaganda, Israel will fall into the abyss.”
While emphasizing the need to reach an agreement with Hamas, withdraw from the Morag axis, and end the war, he acknowledged that Hamas will never kneel or surrender and that Israel should not expect this movement to leave Gaza with a white flag.
Finally, Marum stated in this interview that the only way to control the Gaza Strip is to reconstruct the territory with the help of Arab countries such as the United Arab Emirates, together with the United States, and claimed that the Zionist regime will then monitor everything that happens in Gaza.
