Former Mossad official: Disobedience to commanders’ orders has intensified in the army

PNN – The former deputy head of Mossad announced on Thursday that there has been an increase in opposition to the continuation of military operations in the Israeli army, emphasizing that disobedience to commanders’ orders has intensified among the army forces.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, in an interview with Al Jazeera, this Zionist official said, while referring to the existence of protest petitions and opposition to military orders: These signed petitions show that public opinion wants the war to stop and the prisoners to return.

The Zionist official added: Ending the war and returning the prisoners is in the interest of both parties to the conflict, Israel and Hamas.

He also held Hamas, not Israel, primarily responsible for the current situation in Gaza, despite the fact that the Zionist regime has committed all kinds of crimes in Gaza over the past 18 months.

This former Israeli intelligence official emphasized: We believe that no Israeli should remain in captivity and that the war will end when all sides return their prisoners.

The Zionist newspaper “Israel Hayom” also wrote that 3,000 Israeli education personnel signed a petition calling for the return of Israeli prisoners from the Gaza Strip and an end to the war against the region.

At the same time, 200 families of Israeli prisoners of war released a message supporting those soldiers and pilots of the regime who have called for an end to the war.

The families emphasized in their message: The Israeli military operation in the Gaza Strip is endangering the lives of (Zionist) prisoners. The military operation previously resulted in the deaths of 41 prisoners.

They added: Netanyahu opposed the proposal of US President Donald Trump and put the lives of 59 prisoners at risk. Netanyahu must implement Trump’s proposal to free the prisoners. Military operations also endanger the lives of soldiers. Military operations are not a necessity but a political decision.

Previously, two petitions protesting against the policies of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu were published, which have been signed by more than 200 people so far.

One of the petitions was drafted and signed by graduates of offensive cyber units, and the other by veteran elements of the Special Operations Unit in the Israeli military intelligence organization “Aman.”

According to the report, the tone of the petitions against the Israeli cabinet and its prime minister was much more severe this time.

This section of the petitions stated: Netanyahu’s crimes are innumerable, but the summary is clear; Netanyahu is a danger to our prisoners and to Israel’s security, as well as to democracy.

Another part of these petitions emphasized: We demand the release of all prisoners within the framework of an agreement and a cessation of the war, which Netanyahu calls a war of peace.

The signatories of the petitions also called for the formation of a fact-finding committee to investigate the reason for the Israeli regime’s surprise on the day of Operation Storm al-Aqsa on October 7, 2023, the conscription of hundreds of thousands of “ultra-Orthodox” men into the army, and an end to the regime’s politicization of the judicial system.

Previously, the Israeli Army Radio reported that 450 current and former officers of the regime’s navy had signed a petition calling for an immediate end to the war and efforts to return the Israeli prisoners from the Gaza Strip.

This action was taken in a situation where there is growing dissatisfaction among the Israeli military and security circles regarding the prolongation of the war and the failure to achieve its goals, especially the return of Zionist prisoners from the Gaza Strip.
