PNN – Moshe Ya’alon said that the long and futile war in Gaza has worn out the Israeli army and made Tel Aviv unpopular even among its closest allies.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing the Palestinian news agency Shahab, Moshe Ya’alon, the former Israeli Minister of War, ridiculed the Israeli regime’s so-called Operation Gideon’s Chariots, calling the operation useless, saying that the war in Gaza was carried out without any specific goal and that its only political benefit was supporting the cabinet coalition.

He called the results of this war disastrous and stated that in exchange for the release of a very small number of prisoners [who were released as a result of the war]; a large number of Israeli soldiers were killed.

Ya’alon stated that the army is worn out, mired in the Gaza quagmire, and unable to recover its strength. The regular and reserve soldiers have lost their trust in the war and in the military commanders.

The former Israeli official continued that reports from Gaza have made Israel hated on the global stage and even among its allies, and this is a humiliating feeling.

Moshe Ya’alon continued that the Zionist regime has incurred great security, economic, and political costs in its longest war against an enemy that only has a Kalashnikov weapon in its hands.

He pointed to the wide rift in the Israeli cabinet between Eyal Zamir, the Chief of Staff of the Army, and Bezalel Smotrich, the Israeli Minister of Finance, and emphasized that these differences show that those who failed in the October 7 operation do not want to end the war, as this would lead to the destruction of Netanyahu’s cabinet.

This former Israeli military official stated that, based on the interests of the Israeli regime, this war should have been stopped a long time ago and the Israeli prisoners should have been released.

He called the current Israeli cabinet extremist, some of whose members, although they have not served in the military, do not want to end this war.

Ya’alon concluded by emphasizing that anyone with common sense should oppose this cabinet and call for immediate early elections in Israel.
