PNN – Former Defense Secretary Mike Esper said the perception that President Joe Biden is weak is a “very, very serious” issue in the world.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Hill’s website wrote: Former US President Donald Trump’s Secretary of Defense Mark Esper expressed his concern about the world’s perception of Biden’s performance in the first election debate with Trump and said that this perception could create doubts among our foreign allies and enemies about his ability to run the country.
In an interview with CNN, Esper said: This is a very serious issue. I mean, if an outsider, an ally or a partner of ours, looks at this situation and asks, can he (Biden) afford to go on for another four years? There is no choice but to say “no”.
Biden has been increasingly questioned after his poor performance in the debate. His poor performance raised concerns among Democrats about his ability to win re-election and govern the country for another four years.
Esper, who was the defense secretary in the Trump administration for almost two years, said he will vote for his former boss Trump in the presidential election in November, but believes that Biden’s condition will progressively worsen over time.

He said: The problem is that in a situation where the world needs American leadership in the era of competition to gain the status of a superpower, and countries like Russia, Iran, and North Korea have lined up against Western democracy, the role of American leadership is important… It also matters who is the commander in chief in America.
Esper further argued that America’s enemies, such as Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin, should be asked if they also saw this “weakness” in Biden.
Some Republican members of Congress, including Mike Johnson, the Speaker of the House of Representatives of this country, believe that Biden’s cabinet should think of Biden’s successor, citing Article 25 of the Constitution of this country. He argued that America’s enemies are looking for “weakness in the White House”.
Despite the increasing demands of voters and Democratic experts and some unnamed legislators for Biden’s withdrawal from the upcoming election, the President of the United States and the White House still insist on his continued presence in the competition.
Biden won the primary, so he cannot step aside at the Democratic National Convention in August unless he himself agrees to step down.
Americans will go to the polls on November 5, 2024 to elect the next president of the United States. The winner of this election will start the four-year presidential term from January 2025.
