“France Boosts Security Ahead of Olympic Games”

“France Boosts Security Ahead of Olympic Games”

From the Euronews website, military helicopters will patrol and protect the airspace during the opening ceremony of the Olympics on July 26 in Paris, which is a serious security challenge.

For the first time, the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics will be held outside the closed space on the Seine River and its surroundings.

About 200 Olympic delegations will join the parade of more than 80 boats on the Seine. This ceremony is going to be held along a 6 km route.

According to this report, the planned 6-kilometer rowing course on the Seine has become the main topic of discussion regarding the holding of this unique outdoor event and the exposure to possible dangers.

Meanwhile, securing the opening ceremony of the Olympics is one of the most difficult challenges facing the Paris government.

According to the decision of the French government, tourists will not be allowed free access to watch the opening ceremony due to security concerns.

Paris Police Chief Laurent Nunez said that anyone who wants to enter the area in the days before the ceremony and on the same day, must register online in advance so that the person’s records are checked.

Security concerns had previously prompted French President Emmanuel Macron to announce in April that the opening ceremony could be moved to the Stade de France if the threat level was too high. However, so far no replacement has been made for the Olympic opening ceremony.
