France is likely to send “special military forces” to Ukraine.

The French government is considering sending a small military force directly to Ukraine to act as trainers for Kyiv’s armed forces and as a “deterrent” against Moscow, Le Monde newspaper reported, citing informed sources.

The newspaper did not disclose the number of French military “instructors” potentially allowed to enter Ukraine, but said they may include some “conventional units.”

According to Le Monde, French special forces have also previously been involved in training Ukrainian soldiers in Poland and escorting the country’s arms deliveries to Ukraine. However, they have always “stopped at the Ukrainian border,” the outlet added.

This news has been published while the majority of French people are against the idea of their country’s president to send military forces to Ukraine. The results of a new poll show that more than two-thirds of French people believe that the idea of French President Emmanuel Macron that NATO could one day send its troops to Ukraine to support Kyiv is wrong.

The results of the poll, published Thursday in the French newspaper Figaro, showed that 68 percent of respondents disagreed with Macron’s comments about a possible future NATO deployment in Ukraine, while only 31 percent of voters said they agreed with the idea.

French President Emmanuel Macron, whose recent statements about the possible deployment of troops from the West to Ukraine, were met with a negative reaction from the Western authorities, says that he spoke about the deployment of troops to Kyiv on purpose!

During a visit to the Olympic Village in the suburbs of Paris, Macron told reporters: “Such issues are quite serious.” I had thought out every single word about this light and heavy issue and all aspects of it, and it was perfectly calculated.
