PNN – In an interview with an American network, the French Foreign Minister once again threatened the Islamic Republic of Iran with activating the trigger mechanism and reinstating UN sanctions against Tehran!

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing CBS, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot once again threatened the Islamic Republic of Iran with activating the trigger mechanism, just a few days after the first negotiations between the European Troika and Tehran following the aggression of the Zionist regime and the United States against Iran.

In an interview with the “Face the Nation” program, Barrow said in response to a question about the possibility of Iran’s secret nuclear activity after the 12-day war with the Zionist regime and the move towards building nuclear weapons without attracting the world’s attention, “We still face this danger.” Together with Germany and the UK, we have made it very clear that Iran must not obtain nuclear weapons.

Without referring to the unilateral and illegal US withdrawal from the JCPOA, he claimed: In recent weeks, in close coordination with American officials, we have contacted Iranian officials to express our expectations. We reached an agreement on Iran’s nuclear program 10 years ago that significantly reduced Iran’s nuclear capacity. But since then, things have changed, and Iran has violated all the commitments it made when it signed that agreement!

Barrow also claimed about the dimensions and demands of the Troika in recent negotiations with Tehran that we are currently seeking a more comprehensive agreement; an agreement that does not only address the nuclear dimension, but also includes Iran’s missile components and regional destabilizing activities!

In response to whether France is ready to reimpose sanctions on Iran from August and whether it wants Iran to negotiate directly with the United States to prevent such a scenario, the French Foreign Minister said: We have weekly discussions with Special Representative Steve Whittkof and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on this issue, which is of great importance to the United States and also to Europe.

He also added, in the end, the effort to pressure Iran to return to the negotiating table with the United States after the country’s invasion of Iranian territory: We have supported the US efforts to enter into negotiations with Iran, and after the 12-day war, we have also put pressure on Iran to return to the negotiating table with the US. We are still putting pressure on it, because if a solid agreement is not reached by the end of August, we will have no choice but to reimpose sanctions. We are prepared to impose these sanctions.

Previously, Abbas Araqchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, emphasized before the Istanbul talks that after the recent war, it was necessary for them to be aware that the positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran remain strong and firm. Our enrichment will continue; it is not that we are giving up this right of the Iranian people. Tomorrow’s talks are a continuation of the previous talks, and the world should know that our positions are clear and have not changed. We will defend the rights of the Iranian people on the nuclear issue, and enrichment in particular.
