French Interior Minister’s warning about the possibility of violence and unrest in this country

PNN – Today, the Minister of the Interior of France warned about the inflammation of the country’s society on the eve of early general elections in France and the possibility of unrest.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Reuters wrote that as France’s election campaign enters its final week before the first round of voting, Gerald Darmanen said the country may see civil unrest and election-related violence.

Darmanen told RTL radio: There are likely to be very intense tensions.

The upcoming French elections will be held less than a month before the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Declaring that the authorities are preparing for a “very inflamed” situation, he said: “People are saying “no” to the Parisians, to the elites and their documents.

At the beginning of this month, Macron shocked the country by dissolving the National Assembly. For many voters, the election is a referendum on the fate of a president who was once able to overcome political divisions and now, after several political crises, his popularity has declined.

In a letter to the French that was published yesterday, he said to the voters: I trust you. I am not blind and I am aware of the disease of democracy.

Macron also emphasized that regardless of the outcome of the election, he will remain in office until the end of his presidential term in 2027.

The results of the latest poll showed that the far-right party “National Community” and its allies are in the lead with 35.5 percent of the votes before the French parliamentary elections.

Citing the findings of the Ipsos Institute survey conducted by the newspaper Loparizin and Radio France between June 19 and 20, Reuters wrote that the far-left coalition New People’s Front (NPF) was in second place with 29.5 percent of the vote.

The centrist coalition of French President Emmanuel Macron is in third place with 19.5 percent of votes.

French elections will be held on June 30 and July 7.
