From diplomatic warnings to economic and political pressure, the Arabs have many options against Israel.

From diplomatic warnings to economic and political pressure, the Arabs have many options against Israel.

In an analytical note following the recent Israeli aggression on Doha and the reaction of Arab countries, Al Jazeera Network stated: It is a mistake to consider Arab countries as lacking in leverage and pressure tools. It is enough for these countries to use some of their diplomatic, legal, and economic power to see an immediate reaction in the behavior of Israeli leaders and their Western supporters.

For example, the note refers to the incident in Jordan in 1997, during which the Israeli regime attempted to assassinate Hamas political bureau chief Khaled Meshaal in Amman. At that time, King Hussein put the Wadi Araba Agreement in one hand and Khaled Meshaal’s life in the other. This action ultimately led to a deal that led to the release of Sheikh Ahmed Yassin. If one country could create such an equation, imagine what a change a group of Arab countries could bring about.

Al Jazeera then refers to a report by the Israeli media about the UAE’s warning to Netanyahu’s cabinet. According to the report, Abu Dhabi had warned that if Tel Aviv moved towards annexing the West Bank, the normalization agreements and trade and diplomatic relations would be jeopardized. This warning was enough to put the annexation issue off the agenda for the time being. Now imagine what effect it would have if six or seven Arab countries gave such a message simultaneously.

Al Jazeera continued by stating that the Zionist regime has become accustomed to verbal condemnations over the past years and has shown indifference, because none of the Arab countries have taken practical steps. If embassies were closed and Israeli ambassadors expelled, trade relations were suspended and land and air routes were closed to this regime, then Tel Aviv would be forced to reconsider its positions.
