Future scenario for Gaza: From Trump’s failed plan to the fate of resistance weapons

scenario

PNN – While the US and Israel are pushing for the disarmament of the Palestinian resistance, this scenario is not feasible.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the issue of the Palestinian resistance and its weapons is considered one of the most controversial issues in the post-Gaza war period, and as the ceasefire agreement appears to be entering its second phase, external pressure to disarm the Palestinian resistance groups is increasing.

Meanwhile, observers and analysts warn about a deviation from the core of the Palestinian problem and the Palestinian-Zionist conflict, namely the Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands.

The Great Paradox about the Weapons of the Palestinian Resistance

Mohsen Saleh, director of the Al-Zaytouna Study Center, stated in this regard on the sidelines of the 17th Al-Jazeera Conference, which continues to this day: The resistance achieved great achievements during the events of the Battle of Al-Aqsa Storm, including a major earthquake in the Zionist regime’s cabinet, heavy human, military, and economic losses, and the international isolation of this regime, in addition to weakening normalization projects, restoring self-confidence to the Palestinian people, and inspiring the Islamic Ummah.

The director of the Al-Zaytouna Studies Center emphasized: Therefore, if the issue is disarmament, it is the Zionist regime that must disarm and end its occupation.

On the other hand, Hani Al-Masri, director of the Palestinian Center for Political Research and Strategic Studies (Masarat), considered resistance “a right and a duty for the Palestinian people,” and stated that the choice of form of resistance should be related to feasibility and surrounding conditions.

However, Mohsen Saleh disagreed with this view, saying: Polls prove that the armed resistance approach is the most popular among Palestinians in Palestinian history, and is supported by the majority. Also, today the resistance is entering a new phase of re-energizing and reorganizing, and preparing for a new, better, and stronger action.

Trump’s Peace Council is for the destruction of the Palestinian cause

The plan for a body called the Peace Council, which was considered by the administration of US President Donald Trump for Gaza, has also been widely criticized by observers and researchers, who consider it an attempt to establish international guardianship over the Gaza Strip without providing a real political perspective for Palestinian independence.

Hassan Al-Barari, a professor of international relations at Qatar University, stated that Trump’s Peace Council is actually managing the conflict in Palestine, not resolving it, and will not lead to Palestinian sovereignty and the formation of an independent Palestinian state.

The Qatari researcher emphasized: This American plan is actually aimed at buying time and has no complete strategic vision for the future of the Palestinian cause.

The PA is still under the illusion of the Oslo Accords.

Hani al-Masri continued by pointing to the issue of division and disagreement in Palestine as one of the most prominent obstacles to achieving the aspirations of the people of this land, saying: The crisis in the Palestinian political system is a prominent issue that reveals the dimensions of division and has caused more damage than could have been avoided.

He stated that foreign parties have exploited the division in Palestine and that there are ongoing efforts to appoint a non-Palestinian representative for the Gaza Strip. Today, the Palestinian cause faces existential challenges, and if Palestinians do not organize their ranks and unify their vision and leadership, the future may face even greater difficulties.

Referring to the dangers that the Trump Peace Council poses for the future of Palestine, Mohsen Saleh called for the development of a Palestinian national plan to counter this plan, emphasizing: The Palestine Liberation Organization must reopen the Palestinian House and rebuild it based on Palestinian national conditions, not on the imposed demands of the enemies.

Future scenarios for Gaza

These analysts also presented various scenarios for the future of Gaza. The director of the Zaitouna Study Center said that the war in Gaza has not practically stopped and the Palestinian people cannot stop their resistance until the end of the occupation, so the Palestinian-Zionist conflict continues and several scenarios are drawn for the future of Gaza:

– The Trump plan will be relatively successful, but the Palestinian side will refuse to disarm and the Israeli side will not be willing to retreat.

– The gradual erosion of Trump’s plan, as the Israeli side continues to obstruct and blackmail in the field.

– The possibility of the Zionist regime resuming the war against Gaza, which would mean a new war.

On the other hand, Hassan Al-Barari, a professor of international relations at Qatar University, stated that Israel does not know how to manage Gaza, and therefore the most likely scenario is that Gaza will remain in the status quo. One of the problems with Israel now is that they talk about the day after the war, but they don’t know exactly what their strategy is for the day after.
