G7 leaders: We will continue to support Ukraine.

According to the Anadolu Agency, the leaders of the G7 countries claimed to reaffirm their “permanent support” for Kyiv on the occasion of the 1,000th day of the conflict in Ukraine.

The statement was submitted at the initiative of the current chair of the group, Giorgia Meloni, the Prime Minister of Italy, and was approved by the leaders of the G7 countries consisting of the United States, Germany, France, Canada, the United Kingdom, Italy and Japan.

In a joint statement shared by Italy, the “permanent support” for Ukraine was emphasized, and the group’s leaders claimed that they would continue their resolute support for Ukraine as long as necessary.

The statement added that the member countries would cooperate with Kyiv by participating in Ukraine’s struggle for sovereignty, freedom, independence, territorial integrity, and reconstruction of the country.

The members of the G7 claimed: After a thousand days of the war, we acknowledge the great suffering that the Ukrainian people have endured and that despite the hardships; Ukrainians have shown resistance and determination in defending their land, culture, and people. Russia remains the only obstacle to a just and lasting peace!

It is also noted that the G7 reaffirms its commitment to impose heavy costs on Russia through sanctions, export controls, and other effective measures.

It is worth noting that US President-elect Donald Trump promised during his presidential campaign that he would immediately end the conflict in Ukraine after entering the White House.
