Gaza and Hamas government respond to the abduction of Dr. Marwan al-Hams by the Zionists.
Following the new crime of the Zionist regime against the Gaza medical system and the kidnapping of a medical official in the Strip, Dr. Ismail Al-Thawabta, Director General of the Government Information Office in the Gaza Strip, announced: “We strongly condemn the kidnapping of Dr. Marwan Al-Hams, Director of Abu Yousef Al-Najjar Hospital and Head of Field Hospitals in the Gaza Strip, by special forces affiliated with the occupying army.”
The Director General of the Government Information Office in the Gaza Strip stated in an interview with Shehab News Agency: “On Monday evening, a group of Israeli special forces attacked the ambulance carrying Dr. Marwan Al-Hams and three of his companions, killing one person and wounding two others, including the ambulance driver.”
He added: “This crime is a clear and serious violation of the most fundamental international humanitarian laws and rights and the provisions of the Geneva Conventions, which consider any harm to medical personnel while performing their duties a crime.” The Zionists are fully responsible for the life and health of Dr. Al-Hams, and the kidnapping of this medical official from Gaza is a full-fledged war crime that adds to the bloody record of the occupiers.
Dr. Al-Thawabeta called on the international community, led by the International Committee of the Red Cross, to break its silence, clarify its position on this crime, and take immediate action to release Dr. Al-Hams and stop the systematic crimes of the Zionists against medical personnel in Gaza.
