Gaza ceasefire talks: US attempts to impose Israeli conditions on ceasefire.
While the Gaza ceasefire talks, which began in Doha more than a month ago, have not yielded any results due to the continuous obstruction by the Zionist side, and the occupiers are seeking a massive invasion of Gaza City and the displacement of about one million people from there, some Arab sources reported that there is a high probability that a Zionist delegation will be sent to Cairo early this week to resume the ceasefire talks.
According to the Al-Quds Al-Arabi newspaper, two diplomatic sources familiar with the Gaza ceasefire talks reported that a framework for continuing these talks is being prepared based on the approach of Steve Whittaker, the US representative.
US Efforts to Impose Israeli Conditions on the Ceasefire
According to this report, what makes the resumption of the talks possible are the guarantees that the Americans have given to Israel, that all Israeli prisoners will be released, and that the conditions that Israel wants will be implemented. The approach taken by the Americans speaks of intensive negotiations to end the war in Gaza, during which, in the first weeks of the ceasefire, international organizations and multinational forces will enter areas in Gaza that the Israeli army has left.
“Once the date for the negotiations is set, Netanyahu will instruct an Israeli delegation to prepare to travel to negotiate the release of all the abductees, both dead and alive, and an end to the war on Israeli terms,” the office of the occupying regime’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement on Thursday night. Israel’s policy remains unchanged, and we demand the release of 50 hostages in accordance with the principles set by the cabinet to end the war. We are at a final and decisive stage, and no hostages should remain in Gaza.”
Scenarios for administering Gaza during the ceasefire
On the other hand, behind-the-scenes discussions continue on the composition of the forces that will enter the Gaza Strip; Egypt wants a Palestinian force led by Egypt to enter Gaza so that the Palestinian Authority can later enter the situation, but in the meantime, the Americans, with the support of the Emirates and Saudi Arabia, are working on a multinational force consisting of security personnel from the Emirates, Egypt, Jordan, and the United States.
