Hosni Mehna, spokesperson of Gaza Municipality, said: “The humanitarian situation in Gaza is catastrophic. Lack of fuel has hampered the process of evacuating the wounded and transporting the bodies.
“Some construction equipment and vehicles became unusable as a result of Israel’s targeting of the Gaza Municipality,” the Gaza mayor said. “We cannot supply Al-Shafa Hospital with water.”
He added: “The food and water crisis in the shelters is increasing exponentially because the number of people visiting these centers exceeds the capacity.”
Mehna said that due to the lack of fuel, it is not possible to clear the overflowing waste from the sewage.
In another development, in a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Secretary General of the United Nations called the humanitarian situation in Gaza catastrophic, and Amir Abdollahian also said that the US support for the continuation of military attacks has made it difficult to reach a lasting ceasefire.
