PNN – The disclosure of documents by the Israeli regime’s Channel 12 shows that the Gaza Strip is not only under fire from war, but also under siege by the Israeli army’s garbage; a crisis that has become a serious threat to the health and environment of the people of Gaza.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the Israeli 12 News Channel revealed in a controversial and shocking report that a huge amount of waste from Israeli military personnel has accumulated behind the “Yellow Line” in Rafah, which is controlled by the Zionist occupiers; a situation that has posed a serious health and environmental threat to the health of the people of Gaza.
The documents obtained by the network paint a disturbing picture of the hidden realities deep within the Gaza Strip. The Zionist media outlet claims that the garbage pile-up is the result of internal disputes between the army and the Israeli Ministry of War, which have led to a crisis even in the most basic health issues.
Israeli soldiers stationed in Rafah have claimed that due to budgetary and organizational differences, the garbage in the bases and trenches is not being cleaned up. One of them stated in an interview with Israel’s Channel 12 TV: The Ministry of War is unwilling to collect the garbage from these areas. Things have reached a point where the garbage has piled up and poses a serious health risk.
The angry soldiers stressed that the garbage piles were not just a matter of bad smell or unsightly appearance, but also a hazard that could attract pests and diseases, posing a serious health risk. We cannot be left like this in the garbage while we are fighting, one of them warned.
Previously, Hebrew sources had reported that the Israeli regime, in an illegal act and contrary to humanitarian laws, was driving trucks carrying garbage and construction waste into the Gaza Strip to a depth of 200 to 300 meters and dumping the garbage on the side of the roads. These trucks then return empty, are filled again by bulldozers, and travel the same route to dump their waste in Gaza.
Palestinian sources have also recently reported that the Gaza Strip is suffering from the spread of garbage piles in various areas due to the Israeli occupation preventing residents from transferring their waste to the large official landfill in Rafah, which is under the control of the Israeli army.
This has led to massive accumulations of waste in neighborhoods near residential areas and refugee camps, threatening a health disaster for residents of the Strip as well as the soil, groundwater, and the environment in general.
This waste is located in many residential areas and near population centers, including near hospitals, such as the dump near Baptist Hospital, which is only about 200 meters away, an issue that significantly affects people’s lives and poses dangerous health and environmental risks.
